How to cook with CBD oil?

CBD is a cannabinoid that can be used in a variety of ways: it can be placed under the tongue, smoked, applied to the skin, or ingested in the form of capsules or foods such as CBD cakes, gummies, and candies .

Despite this, some consumers struggle to find the delivery method that best suits their preferences and lifestyles. Some have difficulty tolerating the taste of CBD oil under the tongue, or cannot tolerate consuming CBD on an empty stomach.

Some consumers are unaware that it is entirely possible to enjoy the benefits of CBD by adding a few drops of oil to your meals and drinks.

Cooking with CBD: A new trend?

The first recorded mention of cannabis-infused foods dates back to 2000 BC in India. Indeed, people in the East were already consuming cannabis in their drinks as part of rituals.

The use of cannabis in food stems from the American creation of "edibles," which are homemade or industrially produced cannabis-infused foods.

Cannabis culture pioneers helped fuel the trend in the early 1960s, including authentic cannabis recipes from renowned chefs.

The trend then spread to Europe, and now many countries around the world consume cannabis in their dishes and foods.

The CBD community is proposing to add CBD to their cooking recipes, but also to consume CBD edible products such as chocolate, candy, honey, coffee, and even tea.

Why cook with CBD oil?

CBD (or cannabidiol) is a molecule extracted from hemp, also known as cannabis. It is beneficial for the body because it has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. CBD acts on painful joints and helps relieve mild inflammation. Additionally, its relaxing effects help reduce stress, promote a state of relaxation, and facilitate sleep.

Unlike THC , another molecule contained in hemp, CBD does not cause psychoactive effects.

CBD oil obviously contains CBD, as well as other components such as flavonoids and terpenes. CBD oil can have a more or less bitter taste depending on its concentration, which may not be to everyone's taste. To mitigate or mask this, the solution is to integrate CBD oil into your routine in a simple and convenient way by adding it to a drink or food.

Thus, adding CBD oil to culinary preparations allows you to benefit from the benefits of the molecule while consuming your dish.

For optimal effects, you should choose a good quality CBD oil. Délicure offers CBD oils made from organic avocado and sweet almond vegetable oils, which are very beneficial for the body. Avocado oil acts as an anti-inflammatory, protects against cardiovascular risks, limits the rise in glucose levels after meals, and prevents certain cancers (breast, digestive, etc.). As for sweet almond oil, it is known to be a true beauty and health ally thanks to its calming, anti-inflammatory, and softening properties.

How to use CBD oil for cooking?

Infusing CBD into foods and beverages is one of the best ways to consume cannabidiol on a daily basis. For example, infusing cannabidiol oil into melted butter, which cools to create CBD butter. This makes it possible to spread and consume CBD every day without even thinking about it.

In cold dishes, CBD oil can be added to cooking oils and condiments, such as salad dressings. Cannabidiol will add a distinctive flavor.

In hot dishes, cannabidiol should not be used for cooking or frying food. It's important to know that CBD oil cannot be heated. High temperatures alter cannabidiol and make it toxic. However, CBD oil can be cooked in the oven if the temperature does not exceed 170°C. Otherwise, the oil may deteriorate.

To enhance a pan-fried dish, add CBD oil after cooking.

Additionally, CBD blends well into coffees, teas, and fruit drinks. Smoothies, for example, easily conceal the flavor of CBD thanks to their texture and powerful flavor.

CBD oil is versatile enough to be used in many recipes.

How to properly dose your CBD oil for cooking?

For people who are used to consuming CBD oil sublingually, nothing changes; they can add the same dosage to their recipes.

For those who have never used CBD oil before, they should start with a small amount of a low-concentration formula to observe their reaction and tolerance to the product.

To achieve a satisfactory effect, it is recommended to consume 0.5 mg of CBD per kilogram. For example, the recommended dosage for a man who weighs 70 kilos is 35 mg. Ideally, this dosage should be divided into three doses (morning, noon, and evening), or approximately 12 mg per dose. You can gradually increase the amount to achieve the desired effects; however, we recommend not exceeding 50 mg of CBD per day.

There's no need to add more CBD oil to the dish because the effects aren't felt immediately. Orally consumed CBD has to deal with the digestive system, which will delay the effects. However, when the effects do kick in, they will last longer.

Once you are accustomed to cooking with CBD oil, you can increase or decrease the dosage depending on your needs or the desired effects.
