CBD oils
Before being offered for consumption, CBD must be extracted from the hemp plant (or cannabis sativa).
There are different extraction methods, at Délicure, to efficiently extract cannabidiol, we have chosen supercritical CO2 extraction. This is the cleanest way (no use of additives or contaminants) and the most effective because it preserves all the qualities of cannabidiol (CBD oil).
No notable side effects have been observed/associated with CBD oil consumption, other than a feeling of dry mouth after consuming large amounts of oil. However, some people are more sensitive to CBD oil and might experience certain discomforts such as increased drowsiness.
This is why it is best to gradually increase the dose of CBD in order to know precisely the dosage that suits you best. If you are under medical treatment, we recommend that you speak with your treating physician to avoid possible side effects and interferences/interactions with your current treatment. With CBD, some drug interactions have been revealed, so it is recommended to seek advice from a doctor if you are taking:
- antiepileptic treatment (clobaza);
- Anticoagulant treatment (warfarin);
- An immunosuppressive medication (tacrolimus);
- Methadone;
- Thyroid hormones such as Levothyroxine.
You should know that CBD and THC are two substances derived from the hemp plant (or cannabis sativa) and which belong to the same cannabinoid family. However, CBD and THC do not cause the same effects on the body. THC is known as the “psychoactive” active ingredient in cannabis. The latter is sought after for its recreational aspect and its “high” effects.
THC has a direct action on the nervous system, by affecting the functioning of the brain, it can modify perceptions and behavior. The bitterness of the CBD will thus be attenuated, or even disappear. In addition, it is entirely possible to cook with CBD oil, by simply mixing a few drops with a classic oil.
