Before being offered for consumption, CBD must be extracted from the hemp plant (or cannabis sativa).

There are different extraction methods, at Délicure, to efficiently extract cannabidiol, we have chosen supercritical CO2 extraction. This is the cleanest way (no use of additives or contaminants) and the most effective because it preserves all the qualities of cannabidiol (CBD oil).

No notable side effects have been observed/associated with CBD oil consumption, other than a feeling of dry mouth after consuming large amounts of oil. However, some people are more sensitive to CBD oil and might experience certain discomforts such as increased drowsiness.

This is why it is best to gradually increase the dose of CBD in order to know precisely the dosage that suits you best. If you are under medical treatment, we recommend that you speak with your treating physician to avoid possible side effects and interferences/interactions with your current treatment. With CBD, some drug interactions have been revealed, so it is recommended to seek advice from a doctor if you are taking:

- antiepileptic treatment (clobaza);
- Anticoagulant treatment (warfarin);
- An immunosuppressive medication (tacrolimus);
- Methadone;
- Thyroid hormones such as Levothyroxine.

You should know that CBD and THC are two substances derived from the hemp plant (or cannabis sativa) and which belong to the same cannabinoid family. However, CBD and THC do not cause the same effects on the body. THC is known as the “psychoactive” active ingredient in cannabis. The latter is sought after for its recreational aspect and its “high” effects.

THC has a direct action on the nervous system, by affecting the functioning of the brain, it can modify perceptions and behavior. Its consumption can also lead to side effects such as hallucinations, feelings of drunkenness or even feelings of euphoria. In addition, THC can increase the concentration of dopamine (a chemical that produces the feeling of pleasure) in the brain, which can be addictive and therefore encourage users to consume more.

As for CBD, it is favored for its potential therapeutic properties. It does not cause psychoactive effects and poses no danger to health. Its consumption does not in any way affect the state of consciousness and does not create dependence.

Cannabidiol has the particularity of acting instantly on the receptors of the endocannabinoid system to promote relaxation. A CBD oil, guaranteed THC-free, therefore does not cause any psychotropic effects and does not lead to any addiction.

Some CBD products contain THC but the law limits its concentration to 0.2%, a threshold below which its effects are not felt by consumers. The normal average concentration of cannabis flowers is 15% and some varieties can go up to 30%.

CBD oil can be consumed in two different ways, to choose according to your preferences:

- Sublingual route (under the tongue): place a few drops of CBD oil under the tongue and leave for a minute before swallowing. This is the method that allows you to better absorb cannabidiol and thus benefit from its potential benefits more quickly. Indeed, the mouth is the area of ​​the body richest in blood capillaries. The drops of CBD oil placed under the tongue will be instantly assimilated by the sublingual mucous membranes. This method of administering CBD oil is therefore the fastest and most effective for feeling the benefits of CBD.

- Oral use : consuming CBD oil orally helps neutralize the particular taste of cannabidiol. Simply place the drops of oil on food, or mix them with a liquid (tea, coffee, fruit juice, etc.). The bitterness of the CBD will thus be attenuated, or even disappear. In addition, it is entirely possible to cook with CBD oil, by simply mixing a few drops with a classic oil. However, the effects of cannabidiol will be felt less quickly and assimilation will be significantly degraded compared to sublingual consumption.

Other than oil, there are other CBD products available today. Increasingly popular in France and Europe, cannabidiol can be consumed in the form of capsules, capsules, gummies, candies, chewing gum, infusions, e-liquids, food products or even cosmetic products.
