What is the difference between CBD and THC?
CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) have one thing in common, they come from the hemp plant, commonly called cannabis. They are therefore part of the cannabinoid family.
These are active substances which act on the body's receptors (the nervous system, the immune system and certain organs).
However, these two molecules are opposed on certain points. Unlike THC, CBD does not cause psychotropic effects and is not dangerous for your health.
Difference between CBD and THC
Cannabis is a plant made up of a large number of molecules, called “cannabinoids”. Each of these cannabinoids has specific properties.
The main active molecule of this plant is THC, known for its psychotropic effects. Indeed, consuming THC modifies the consumer's state of consciousness by making them “high”. Additionally, THC stimulates an area of the brain linked to pleasure and reward. This stimulation causes a more abundant secretion of dopamine, which pushes the body to no longer do without it and therefore creates an addiction. Indeed, if this excessive stimulation does not occur, the consumer will feel a lack.
Excessive consumption of THC can cause illness, road accidents, acts of violence, loss of concentration and memory, lack of productivity and even depression.
CBD is another cannabis molecule that does not act in the same way on the body. Cannabidiol has a calming effect and even allows, if the level consumed is high, to delay and limit the effects of THC.
Health benefits of CBD
While THC is considered a substance harmful to health because of its psychoactive effects and its ability to create dependence; CBD, for its part, provides numerous benefits for the body and mind.
Cannabidiol has been shown to have analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps reduce pain, make it easier to fall asleep, protect the nervous system, reduce addictive behaviors, stimulate the immune system and fight effectively against anxiety and depressive states. CBD is even useful in the treatment of epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and psychotic disorders like schizophrenia.
Just like THC, CBD is a fat-soluble molecule. It is therefore possible to infuse CBD flowers into a fatty substance such as oil or butter to consume daily. You can even use cannabidiol flowers in cooking recipes, such as cakes for example.
In addition, you should know that a CBD-based oil applied in massage helps relax the muscles and reduce possible pain.

CBD and THC legislation
According to several studies, it has been shown that CBD is a non-toxic substance for health, and that it does not causedependence or serious side effects, unlike THC.
Cannabidiol is therefore legal and is not listed as a controlled substance. Its marketing is authorized in France in different forms (e-liquid for electronic cigarettes, oil, capsules, gums, cosmetic products, etc.). Please note, however, that these CBD-based products are authorized for sale if their THC level is less than 0.2%.
Regardless of the method of CBD consumption chosen, it is recommended to respect the dosage prescribed on the product and not to exceed the recommended dose.
In summary, CBD and THC are different in their functioning, their effects on the body and mind, as well as their legal status.
